3 Great ways to make your own embellishments using....

GLUE DOTS! How neat huh?! I played all day with these glue dots and found some great ways to make your own embellishments using them with glitter, flocking, or embossing powder. Check out this video to learn how!

Christmas Cards... yes I'm already done!

Living in Arizona where the only snow I see all year round is on top of the mountains... makes me really get into the Chrismas season. It gives me an excuse to put up the Christmas tree on Thanksgiving night, go coo coo on decorations, and start my Christmas cards super early. If you're like me you like to display your cards somewhere. I hang up the Christmas cards I get around our fireplace mantle so I can see them. I would like to see them for longer than a week, and I assume others feel the same way so I usually get mine all sent out by the first weekend in December. This year I got inspired by a friend of mine Craft Junkie Too. Her blog is http://www.craftjunkietoo.com/. I hope you all have time to check her out. She's so sweet and has a LOAD of inspiration on each of her tutorials and on her blog. I believe the snowman cards that she did were from Christmas 2009 and those are what inspired my cards this year.
I also decided that I needed somewhere to put Christmas cards to rest each year when the Holiday is over so I made a 12x12 album just special for those cards. I usually get 5 years worth of cards in one album before I have to go to another album. I guess depending on how many cards you get each year you may be able to get more than that from one album or you might not get that many years. I just love to keep cards. They mean a lot to me, always have, and so I wanted to be able to keep them out for display instead of locked in a box in my closet. I also LOVE to have the album displayed on my coffee table during the holiday season. It gives my family, friends, and guests something to look through (besides the family albums) and makes me happy! <3
I LOVE LOVE LOVE owls... ya'll know this. But around Christmas time, the ONE thing that will trump my owls (until the day I can find Christmas-y owls) are Snowmen. I LOVE SNOWMEN! You'll see how much when you look at my cards, ha ha.
I hope you all enjoy your Holiday season and preparing for, what I like to call, the BEST HOLIDAY EVER... Christmas. Get those cards made, enjoy your family and friends, and remember.. it's not about the gifts that are given, but the love and togetherness that makes Christmas special!

Hugs and God bless,
Brook
Here's our little Christmas card. It's a family of snowmen. Each one represents a member of our family. I wish I could have done 2 little snow dogs for our puppies, but that's okay. :)

Prayer Journal Finished

Hi ladies. Hope ya'll are having a great week. It's Thanksgiving week, yippie! We're excited that my husband gets to come home from training this week for the holiday! Thank you Jesus!
I wanted to share with you, per request, our prayer journal we created. I wanted to have something to help us to remember each and every one of our family, friends, etc... prayer requests and also just to remember them EVERY TIME we pray. I have asked and gained permission for these pictures to be used and was even able to add some special prayer requests of each family. Thank you all for heleping in that.
It's not "quite" finished in regards to the embellishments and such, but you get the idea of what it is. I so enjoyed making this!
Each page is designated for a family or person and each page has their/his/her picture along with some generic prayer requests that, as a family, we can pray for. (Ex. family, friends, finances, blessings, health, etc..) and then a little pocket at the top where I will add more intimate prayers, SPECIFIC requests, etc.. that will be prayed over by myself or myself and my husband. You know how kids are and sitting still for long, even to pray, might be difficult. I also thought that some/most of the "specific" prayers were more adult in maturity level and I also wanted to respect the privacy of each family/person. I am also going to use the little pockets to add "answered prayers". I think it's important to thank God and remember to celebrate not only the answered prayers, but also celebrate that GOD is in control and Thank him for the answers even if they haven't been answered "yet".
Each person/family has their own little "create a critter ring" that I will had to the children and they will know who belongs to which critter and who they are praying for. If they forget, those generic prayer requests are written on the back.  This gives them something to hold and focus on and help them through their prayers.
I hope you all enjoy it. I have a video that goes through this journal on my youtube page: www.youtube.com/user/brooknrich. Here are some pictures for you to see.

This is the front of the prayer journal. Below it is my bible so you can see my inspiration for choosing a "pink" prayer journal.

This is the inside of the prayer journal. You can see a picture of my family on the front page and the title "The Rhinehart's Prayers".

This is just an example of what the pages look like inside and the "hidden" pocket at the top where I'll stick tags in for the special prayer requests and all that.

This is an example of the "critter key rings" that I made in honor of each family/person so the kids can hold them and pray over that family/person. this one happens to be a cow for my dad and his wife since they have a farm with cows. The kids will hold that and remember to pray for G-pa and Meme and if they forget, there's prayer requests on the back and their name.

Hugs and God bless!

More cards...... and some Halloween Goodies! ENJOY!

Just an abstract wood/boy-ish thing I did. Inspired by a friend of mine on youtube. Isn't this neat? I love how the picture is "busting" through and the chain.

My family on Halloween 2010: My husband, oldest son and I went as "TOGA People". My youngest son was Ninja Turtle and my daughter was Venom from "SPIDERMAN".

"LOVE YOU" card I made for my papa!

"Wild" about you card I made for my youngest son, daughter, and oldest son. I made the lil' lion cub "girlie" for my daughter's card.

Fall Friends card
Hope you all enjoy and had a great Halloween weekend. Enjoy your week and keep scrappin'.

So, randomly I decided to look in the luggage that we'd taken on our trip in June and there it was!! It was sitting there so lovely and I could swear I heard angels singing, LOL. So.. this mean PICTURES PICTURES PICTURES and a faster upload time for videos. My flip takes 174 minutes to upload a 5 minute video. So.. get ready ladies.... ha ha.

Hope you are all having a blessed week and getting ready for the weekend. I will be posting details and mailing dates for my tag swap for those of you who want to join so check my blog on Monday morning.

Lollipops and Primas and a swap for YOU!

www.youtube.com/user/brooknrich
Click on the link above and Come hang out with me on my youtube channel. I have a video up of this flower. Jewels from The Jewel Box had an awesome tutorial on this technique of making your own Prima flowers. This was my first attempt at it and I think, minus a few minor mistakes, it turned out BEAUTIFUL.. what do ya'll think?
I'm sorry I've been missing for a week. My broken toe has kept me down but I'm up and moving again (slowly) so I'll be looking forward to catching up on everything and catching you all up on what's been happening at Creative Endings!!!
                                                                              SWAP TIME:
I am thinking of hosting a monthly swap starting next Monday. I am wondering how many of you ladies would like to be a part of this. Each swap will cost (in total with shipping) no more than 5.00. We can use items we already have and be able to enjoy each others creativeness and fun! The way it will work  for this month is we will be doing "TAGS". I'm sure you have all done a swap at one time or another but for those of you who haven't... THEY ARE SO MUCH FUN!!! I will be hosing it this time and if you all like it we can start a swap group and we can take turns as the host for those of you who might be interested. I think it will be neat if the host comes up with the swap item, but if you are not comfortable with doing the theme we can submit a list of things or themes for a swap an we can just start at the top and work our way through the submitted and agreed upon themes.  For this one I thought since Halloween is pretty much coming up quick it would be too hard to get tags made, sent and back to you all before Halloween so I thought we could decorate tags with a Christmas theme. What do ya'll think? I love Christmas and I love tags (I'm sure we ALL do) so I think this will be awesome!!! The way it will work is we will each decorate a tag and then you will mail them to me (but keep 1 that you made for yourself) and then I distribute the tags back to you. You will end up with a tag from EACH lady in the swap. These are so fun ladies! I've been a part of 7 through scrapbook.com and I've hosted 3 and they've all turned out SO GREAT! So... what do you think? Let me know!! I am hoping to get tags mailed to me by November 11th so that I have time to distribute them back to each of you and you will have them by December 1st.
Comment and let me know what you think. Don't be shy... everyone has their own unique way of scrapping and ALL are welcome. Newbies, Oldies and everyone in between. I think this is a great way for all of us to participate in something fun and get to know each other better. I will post the official rules and directions Sunday night (if there is enough interest) and then we can get started SCRAPPIN' our TAGS!!! I can't wait!!!

Hugs ladies and Be Blessed!!
Love,
Brook

Helping Jules........ please check out her blog for more details

Hi ladies,
I hope you are all having a great week so far and getting ready for the weekend! Yah!!! I appreciate all my followers and friends and scrap-sisters so much for all your sweet words, e-mails, messages and mostly for your friendships. They mean so much to me! I am doing this post to get the word out and give support to Jules. You can visit her blog at www.thejulebox.com and also her youtube channel jannaviles. Jules recently had a death in her family and the family is needing to raise money for the funeral/burial expenses because the burial company will not bury him until they have paid in full up front. The family is doing A LOT to raise money for this cause. I have decided to sell some mini albums and 100% of the proceeds will go to Jules family. Jules has a "donate" button on her blog, www.thejulebox.com and she's also selling lace and button bundles where the proceeds will go to paying for the burial. Please go to her blog and check it out. Her items are AMAZING and beautiful and she also has a video up explaining everything. Even if you can't donate financially, your thoughts and prayers mean SO much so I ask that you all stop by there and lend your support to a fellow scrap-sister okay. :) Many hugs and blessings to you all and I want to say thank you again! I know that we never know when we might have a crisis or loss in our own lives and the support of anyone and everyone is very important. I ask that you just pray super hard for her family and lend ANY support you are able to.

Have a great Friday ladies and a wonderful weekend and from the bottom of my heart I say thank you because all your friendships, messages and prayers mean all the world to me!
SUPER BIG HUGS,
Brook

camera..........bummed!!

So I have some FABULOUS pictures of some cute cards I've made this weekend, a "Remember Me" journal I put together for my brother who passed away, and a few great HAULS and RAK's but I CAN"T FIND THE CHARGER to my camera!!!!!! I've looked all weekend and my fear is that it's sitting in a hotel in Phoenix where I might have left it... :( WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I am so bummed. Not only can't I post pics for ya'll, but I can't TAKE ANY PICTURES either. This is such a horrible tragedy to a photography business owner and AVID scrapper. Well, you can bet that my savings that I've had building for a "few scrapbook goodies" will go into a new charger this afternoon. :(
Hang in there with me and I will try to get a few pics and videos posted before tomorrow. :)

Hugs and Be Blessed Ladies,
Brook

New Project.....Brother's ANGELversary

Hey ya'll hope you're all having a great long Labor Day weekend. I'm loving the long weekend b/c my kids are out of school EVERY Friday so that means we have a 4 day weekend with them. I love the kids being home. It just grounds me! It also gave me a start to my 365 project. smClaudia from youtube is having to sell her scrapbooking supplies due to the recent loss of her husband suddenly. I know many of you follow Claudia she's an amazing lady. While we all can pray for her and her family, another way you can look into supporting her is by checking out her youtube channel and if you're interested you can purchase her scrapbook items. She's making videos of lots of stuff and they go pretty quickly so if you're interested subscribe to her and each time she uploads a new video it will notify you. I recently purchased her 365 Kit and I'm super excited because I've been looking for one of these forever. Tonight, I found out they aren't making them anymore so I'm blessed that I could not only help her out, but I was able to get something I've been really really wanting for a long time now.
I'd been trying to find one as this is the 1 year anniversary (ANGELversary) of my brother going to heaven. September 3rd of last year he committed suicide and it was a devastation to my family. He was only 33 and would have been 34 September 7th. Today, in honor of his memory we (my entire family and friends spread out over the entire US) light a candle at 5:00p.m. for him. We are all going to be letting balloons go for him on what would have been his birthday in 2 days. This loss has been tragic to our family, and I believe brought us closer in the end. I thank God everyday for my family, friends, scrap-sisters, and those of you who we don't know but has supported us and supported me. I've been working very hard to get my photography and scrapbook business up and running and 50% of the proceeds go to Teen Challenge. Teen Challenge is a drug/alcohol abuse home for teens and my brother was not only seen there a few times, but was a volunteer. My mom donated all his clothing to Teen Challenge after he passed and we believe 100% in this foundation. It's saved MANY MANY children and teens lives.
I miss you big brother, everyday is so hard but I know that I will see you again in Heaven one day and our whole family will unite and never be apart again. Give Ron, Granny Bev, and Gramps a big hug and kiss for me.

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend and give your family lots of hugs and kisses.
Be Blessed!!!

Paper Flower Tutorial

videoFor those of you who watch my youtube channel this is my video I put together of how I make my paper flowers. There are so many different and wonderful techniques out there, and I was asked my a few of my followers to please post a tutorial on how I do my paper flowers. So... I thought I'd share on my scrap-blog too! For those of you who follow here and want to also follow my youtube channel my youtube name is brooknrich. There are 2 videos on my youtube using this technique. One is the technique I use and the other is a really fun way to "shimmer up" your flowers using Metallic paint.

More cards and a few swaps

I hope you are all having a fantastic weekend! I've been working on my card stash since I've been pulling from it for months now. I thought this weekend I could replenish my stash and thought I'd share a few with ya'll. I'm LOVING the Create a Critter cartridge for the Cricut and I don't think I've even used anything else since I got it last week. Do ya'll do that? Get something new and then use it a TON!! I sure do. I actually just signed up for a couple of swaps on scrapbook.com and I'm super excited to get started. One is an owl swap and the other is a cupcake swap. Doesn't that sound so fun?!!Alright, onto the cards.

I hope you all have a blessed weekend and fabulous Sunday!

Brook
